New and Upgraded Academic Technology - Fall 2007
Academic and Event Technology Services -
  • NEW… Nursing Lab with 25 student workstations and proctor seat located in Library Room 212.
  • NEW… Instructor podium/LCD screen installed in Reed Hall 237 (formerly Writing Lab.)
  • NEW… “SCALE-UP” classroom with dual projection/podium systems located in Library Room 136.
  • NEW… Mechanical Engineering classroom with 4 student workstations located in Library Room 323.
  • NEW… Portable projection system installed in Music Modular classroom.
  • NEW… Portable projection system installed in Arts Complex.
  • NEW… New course software installed including: Maple TA, Scientific WorkPlace, MaClade, PAUP, SolidWorks, SchoolVue, TI SmartView, ForDisc.
  • NEW… Established “Lon-Capa” UNIX-based server for high level Math/Science assessments.
  • NEW… Established Virtual Machine (VM) network servers allowing for consolidation of academic servers and, therefore, expansion of related services. VM also enables the ability to run multiple operating systems concurrently.
  • UPGRADE… Expansion of our Storage Area Network (SAN) - greatly increasing academic data storage capabilities.
  • UPGRADE… Interactive teaching podium systems/projectors upgraded/replaced in Arts Complex Room 111 and Reed Hall classrooms 139, 146, 236 and 247
  • UPGRADE… 40 student workstations replaced in computer classroom located in Whitaker Hall rooms 269 and 232.
  • UPGRADE… Microsoft Office 2007 installed on all computer classroom, lab and podium pc’s.
  • UPGRADE… Angel Learning Management System upgraded to version 7.1.
  • UPGRADE… Various course software upgrades and license renewals including: SPSS, MatLab, Maple, ArcView, MiniTab, SigmaPlot, AutoCad, Adobe Creativity Suite
