Academic Affairs is responsible for the fulfillment of the university's academic mission. It includes key offices within the university (see attached organization chart), including: the five colleges and their constituent centers and institutes, Library Services, the Division of Academic and Media Technology (including WGCU Television and Radio), the Office of Curriculum and Instruction, the Office of Planning and Institutional Performance, Graduate Studies and Admissions, the Office of the Registrar, Off-Campus and Continuing Education, Global Initiatives and International Services, and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. Together these units comprise 328 full-time faculty, 170 part-time faculty, 233 full-time staff and 85 part-time staff. Academic Affairs constitutes approximately 63% of the university's E&G budget.

FGCU’s exceptional faculty is deeply committed to preparing our students to be productive citizens, responsible learners, and civically conscious adults.  Through innovative teaching methods, vigorous scholarly activities and impassioned community service, faculty devote their disciplinary expertise to ensuring the academic excellence of our students and programs.
