Finance & Accounting - General Information

 
 

The primary objective of Finance & Accounting is to maintain public trust and confidence in Florida Gulf Coast University by providing quality financial and accounting information, safeguarding University resources and to consistently advance the vision and core missions of the University. Under direction of the Office of the Controller, Finance & Accounting maintains accounting records, collects and disburses University funds, monitors the budget and prepares the Annual Financial Report.

The functional responsibilities of Finance & Accounting are to:

  • Maintain an accurate and effective accounting and reporting system
  • Provide campus leadership in the development of effective control systems to safeguard University assets
  • Pay the University's legal obligations
  • Maintain the University's banking relationships
  • Coordinate the efforts of all internal and external audits
