  • The Florida Legislature reviews the program each year and is authorized to change eligibility and funding requirements for future years.
• Legislative Updates
  • As of the 2011-2012 academic school year, ALL Bright Futures recipients are required to complete the FAFSA (www.fafsa.gov) Without a valid FAFSA, we will not be able to disburse your Bright Futures scholarship. Use code 032553 as the FGCU Federal Code.
• 2011 Award amounts per credit hour
  • The 2011-2012 Bright Futures Academic scholarship will pay $101.00 per enrolled credit hour (Fall and Spring only).
  • The 2011-2012 Bright Futures Medallion and Gold Seal scholarships will pay $76.00 per enrolled credit hour (Fall and Spring only).
  • Any class dropped/withdrawn requires Bright Futures repayment.  Once repaid, those credits are returned to the student for future use. The repaid credits are not counted in the annual completion rate. Students must successfully complete the credits for which they receive Bright Futures funds.
