GRE Fee Reduction Certificate
The GRE Fee Reduction Certificate reduces the fee of the GRE subject and general test by 50%. The current fees, with the waiver, for the 08-09 academic year are $70.00 for the general test and $65.00 for the subject test.
To obtain the fee reduction certificate a student must meet the criteria and fulfill the requirements outlined below:
Criteria
• A current FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be filled out and on file with the financial aid office. This can be filled out at http://www.fafsa.gov/. • The student must be a U.S. Citizen or resident alien. • The student must be a senior (90 credits or more) or have already graduated. • A dependent student must have a parental contribution (calculated from the FAFSA information) of $1,400.00 or less during their senior year. • An independent student must have an EFC (expected family contribution) of $1,800.00 or less during their senior year. • Returning students who have already earned a bachelor's degree must have an EFC of $1,800.00 or less.
Requirements
• Stop by the Financial Aid Office to obtain a fee waiver certificate request form. The waiver will not be provided if there is a past due balance due to Title IV aid being owed or if any financial aid holds exist at the time of the request. • Print off a copy of the current year's ISIR. This will be emailed or mailed to the student by the federal processor once the FAFSA is completed. Please note if a student is selected for the verification process the ISIR will not be considered valid until that process is complete. A new ISIR will be sent by the federal processor once the verification information is submitted by the school. • Payment must be sent in with the GRE fee waiver certificate.
Once all of these items are complete the forms and payment can be mailed to the address provided on the test registration form. The student is responsible for sending in all information and adhering to any deadlines.
Please Note: We are only permitted to provide one fee reduction certificate per student. If the form is lost, or the appointment is missed for any reason we cannot provide another certificate.
