Barbara began working at Florida Gulf Coast University in March of 2006. Prior to that she spent 23 years as a teacher in the Miami-Dade and Lee County School systems. She eaned her Bachelor's Degree in Exceptional Student Education from Florida State University and her Master's Degree in Exceptional Education from Nova Southeastern University. Additionally, she teaches part-time for the College of Arts and Sciences.

Outside of work, Barbara is busy with  her husband and her 2 sons. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, biking, reading, and watching her favorite programs, "House Hunters" and "Say yes to the dress". She is also an avid football fan and enjoys watching her favorite team, Florida State!
