Robyn is originally from Northeastern Ohio, although it wasn’t until moving to Kentucky to go to college that she was introduced to ASL & the Deaf community. In 1999 she graduated from Eastern Kentucky University’s Interpreter Training Program, became certified by both the National Association of the Deaf (NAD IV) and the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID CI/CT), and has worked as an interpreter in the Lexington, Kentucky area since that time. As an ASL interpreter, she has provided services in all aspects of education including post-secondary institutions, the Kentucky School for the Deaf, P-12 settings and the Kentucky Department of Education. She is very excited to be back in the post-secondary environment and to make her home in Southwest Florida as a part of Florida Gulf Coast University. In her free time she enjoys time with family, playing with her two dogs, swimming, bicycling, and horseback riding.
