All high school students applying for the Fall term are
evaluated for competitive, merit-based scholarship packages. No separate application is necessary to compete for the list of awards.
All awards can be renewed up until the student completes his/her first bachelor’s degree or until student’s earned and attempted credits reaches the required number of credits for his/her chosen degree program, whichever comes first. Students must complete a minimum of 24 credits each academic year towards their chosen degree program and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Admission Merit Scholarship
Criteria for Initial Awards
- Be a US citizen or meet the requirements of an eligible non-citizen as defined by the Federal Student Aid program.
- Students must be admitted to FGCU as an undergraduate degree seeking student in the Fall semester.
- Students must have the admission application submitted by the advertized deadline of November 15th.
- Students are considered based on a combination of GPA and standardized test scores. All applicants are ranked with the top students receiving the award.
- The number of awards depends on fund availability and may vary from year to year.
Scholarship
- The scholarship is a one-time award of $2,000 that the Office of Undergraduate Admissions offers each year to new students admitted for summer and fall terms.
- The student must enroll in the fall term. The award is split between the fall and spring terms.
Award Process
- Upon admission students will be notified of the award by early spring.

FGCU President’s Gold Scholarship
Criteria for Initial Awards
- Be a US citizen or meet the requirements of an eligible non-citizen as defined by the Federal Student Aid program.
- Students must be admitted to FGCU as an undergraduate degree seeking student in the Fall semester.
- Students must have the admission application submitted by the advertized deadline of December 1.
- Students must have a 3.9 GPA (recalculated from the high school transcript by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions) and an 1850 (Critical Reading + Math + Writing) on the SAT or a 28 Composite score on the ACT.
Scholarship
- The scholarship award will be for full tuition and full fees plus $3,500 per year ($2,500 cash plus $1,000 cash as a member of the FGCU Honors Program).
- The scholarship will be renewed each year until graduation subject to the student satisfying the renewal criteria.
Criteria for Renewal
- Students must maintain fulltime academic enrollment in the terms that the scholarship is awarded.
- Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and complete a minimum of 24 credits each academic year towards their chosen degree program. (Note: students in the honors program must meet continuing eligibility requirements for that program).
- The continuation of the $1,000 honors program portion of the scholarship past the first year will be contingent upon the students remaining in that program.
- Scholarship can be renewed up until the student completes his/her first bachelor's degree or until student's earned and attempted credits reaches the required number of credits for his/her chosen degree program whichever comes first.

National Merit Scholarship Program
