Recognizing that college is an expensive endeavor and that you, as a student, may be seeking alternative means for funding your education, FGCU offers a number of options for meeting your financial needs. We strongly recommend that you visit the Office of Financial Aid or email them at FASO@fgcu.edu, or call (239) 590-7920 to discover the numerous grants, scholarships and loans available to students based on academic achievement, personal accomplishments or financial need. Remember that if you wish to be considered for need-based scholarships, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)-available on-line at the FASO website.
FGCU also uses budget authority granted by the state and the Board of Trustees for the purpose of waiving the tuition for certain types of students. Waivers are awarded based on the University's established key selection criteria of recruitment, retention, diversity and service. Each type of tuition waiver award has specific renewal criteria. Students receiving out-of-state tuition waivers are encouraged to seek in-state residency following their first year of enrollment when out-of-state tuition waivers typically expire.
There are a number of different categories of awards for both undergraduate and graduate students. The following links will familiarize you with the type of waiver for which you may be eligible, requirements for applying for a waiver, and the criteria for renewal each term.
Please give special attention to the deadline dates noted within each waiver category. You are encouraged to apply for a waiver BEFORE receiving an admissions decision in order to meet the waiver application deadline.
