AA Degree at Edison State College = Guaranteed Admission at Florida Gulf Coast University to get Bachelor's Degree
Together, Florida Gulf Coast University and Edison State College want to help make your academic goals a reality. We encourage students to take advantage of our Edison State College/FGCU Qualifying Program allowing students who are earning an Associate of Arts (AA) degree or articulated Associate of Science (AS) degree to make an easier transition to complete a Bachelor's Degree.
What is the Edison State College/FGCU Qualifying Program?
Florida's higher education system is designed to allow students to successfully pursue a bachelor's degree by first attending a community/state college and then transferring to a 4-year state university system institution. The state of Florida guarantees that students who complete an AA degree at a community/state college have the opportunity to enroll in and earn a bachelor's degree at a state university. If students from the 5-county area (Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, or Lee county) apply to Florida Gulf Coast University as a freshman and do not meet freshman admission requirements, they may be invited to participate in the Edison State College/FGCU Qualifying program.
Once at Edison State College, students who were placed into the Edison State College Admission Qualifying Program and are ready to transition to FGCU, should contact Donna Morin at Edison State College about the application process. Students do not have to go through the regular admission process and do not have to pay another application fee. Please note, that due to the special nature of this program, students cannot find the transition form online. Please contact Donna Morin at Edison State College or in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at FGCU for a transition application.
Early planning and being prepared are essential to making the Edison State College/FGCU Qualifying Program work its best for you.
An FGCU Advisor is accessible on the Edison State College Lee County campus and the FGCU campus to help you with your planning, answer questions and to ensure your application and transfer process is as smooth as possible.
Donna Morin, Admissions Representative and Transfer Advisor can be contacted at dmorin@fgcu.edu or 239-489-9204 or 239-590-7913.
