2 (years at community college to get AA degree) +2 (years at a State University to get Bachelor’s Degree)
Together, Florida Gulf Coast University and State College of Florida, Mantee-Sarasota want to help make your academic goals a reality. We encourage students to take advantage of the Florida State 2+2 program Allowing students who are earning an Associate of Arts (A.A) degree or articulated Associate of Science (AS) degree to make an easier transition to complete a Bachelor’s Degree.
What is the 2+2 program?
Florida’s higher education system is designed to allow students to successfully pursue a bachelor’s degree by first attending a community college and then transferring to a 4-year institution. This approach to earning a 4-year degree is commonly referred to as the 2+2 system. The state of Florida guarantees that students who complete an AA degree at a community college have the opportunity to enroll in and earn a bachelor’s degree at a state university.
Early planning and being prepared are essential to making the 2+2 program work it’s best for you.
An FGCU Advisor is accessible on all three SCF campuses to help you with your planning, answer questions and to ensure your application and transfer process is as smooth as possible.
