Out-of-State Waiver
Out-of-State Waivers are available to enhance campus diversity and academic quality in an ever increasing competitive student market. Waivers are based on the University's established key selection criteria of recruitment, retention, diversity and service and awarded to students who are classified as Out of State residents.
Eligibility
- Must be classified as Non Florida Resident for tuition purposes.
- Must be admitted by March 15 of the semester of enrollment.
- Minimum GPA 3.4 weighted.
- The Out-of-State Waiver covers the difference in tuition between out-of-state and instate tuition. For more information please refer to the Office of the Bursar http://www.fgcu.edu/Cashiers/tuition-and-fees.html
- This waiver will cover only 9 credit hours per semester.
Renewal
Renew will be automatic every semester until reaching their degree requirements. Students will need to maintain:
- A cumulative GPA 3.4.
- Students must earn credit in 80% of attempted hours.
- Students must meet the criteria after each semester for which they received the award.

- You will need to answer 3 essay questions, with 250 words maximum. Below are the questions. Please type your answer in a word document. You will need to copy and paste your answer in the application as time is limited.
- Please list scholastic achievements, community awards or recognitions, leadership roles, and volunteer activity hours.
- Please tell us about your future plans and career goals.
- Please describe any extraordinary challenges, personal circumstances or additional information you would like to have taken into consideration.
In-State Waiver
In-State Waivers are available to enhance campus diversity and academic quality in an ever increasing competitive student market. Waivers are based on the University's established key selection criteria of recruitment, retention, diversity and service and awarded to students who are classified as In-State residents and meet the eligibility requirements as listed below.
Eligibility
- Must be a Florida Resident.
- Must be admitted as a degree seeking student by March 15 of the semester of enrollment.
- Must be a member or belong to one of these recognized outreach programs. (See list below).
- AVID
- CROP
- HOPE Advanced
- Immokalee Foundation
- PSEP/Scholars Program
- Take Stock in Children
- Other (Specify program in application)
- The In-State Waiver will cover the tuition for 12 credit hours per semester.
- Additional scholarship may be awarded to cover the credit hour fees.

Renewal

- Maintain a full time (minimum 12 credit hours) status every semester.
- Students must earn credit in 80% of attempted hours.
- Students must meet the criteria after each semester for which they received the award.

- Name of advisor of your Outreach Program: You will need to know the name of a contact person (advisor/coordinator) for this program at your school. If you don't have a name, please refer to your high school counselor who will help you.

PTK (Phi Theta Kappa) Scholarship
The PTK scholarship program has been developed to provide scholarships to upper level transferring students who have graduated with an Associate’s Degree and are members from a Florida PTK Chapter.
Eligibility
- Must be a Florida Resident.
- Must be admitted as a degree seeking student by July 15th.
- Must be a transfer student from a Florida Community or State College.
- Must be a member from a Phi Theta Kappa Chapter in Florida.
- Must have received an Associate's degree.
- Must have a minimum of a 3.5 GPA.
In addition, for All Florida Academic Team recipients, please be ready to provide your letter of award. Full tuition coverage will be awarded to the Team A and Team B recipients.
Renewal
Renew will be automatic every semester until reaching their degree requirements. Students will need to maintain:
- A cumulative GPA 3.5.
- Maintain a full time (minimum 12 credit hours) status every semester.
- This scholarship is renewed for 4 semesters only.

- Verification letter from your current Registrar's office that you have applied to graduate with your AA or AS (if you have not received your Associate's degree yet).
