Welcome Center Team

The Welcome Center team is a family of individuals who are passionate about sharing their love of FGCU with you! The positions are highly sought after and team members are carefully chosen after an intense audition process. Our team members not only greet visitors and give tours of campus, but also are the voices you talk with when calling the Admissions toll-free line. In addition to campus tours and answering phones, we also organize mailings to prospective students, organize and host the Eagle EXPO open houses, and provide special assistance to offices needing campus representative at various events. As the ‘concierge’ of campus, our team members are prepared to provide top-notch customer service to each and every visitor to campus!

Meet the Welcome Center Team:

Brandon

Junior

Hometown: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Major: Biology

I chose FGCU because it is close to home and when I came to tour something made me fall in love with the campus.

My favorite riddle is: “A man leaves home, makes three lefts and when he comes back home he sees a person with a mask.” What job does he have? A baseball player!

Cameron

Senior

Hometown: Lakeland, FL

Major: Communication

I chose FGCU because it just felt right. Something clicked while taking a tour and I knew this was the place for me.

My spirit animal is either an elephant or a lion. It's hard to decide, but I would be one or the other.

Sophomore

Hometown: Trelawny, Jamaica

Major: Marketing

I chose FGCU because of the accredited business program with a home-style environment of the campus.

If I could be a movie character I would be Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow from the Avengers. She is one tough woman, but has a softer side when she needs to.

Cayla

Senior

Hometown: Kettering, OH

Major: Community Health

I chose FGCU because I wanted to attend a smaller college. FGCU has a great mix of small classrooms with tons of things to get involved in.

If I had a superpower it would be to understand and speak any language.

I chose FGCU because it was close to home, it has a great communication program and I fell in love with campus the first time I stepped foot on it!

If I could be any animal, I would be a giraffe so I could experience being tall!

Major: Communication & Sociology

I chose FGCU because I wanted to go to a school that would view me as a person and not a number.

If I could be any celebrity I would be Beyonce. She is amazing!

Hometown: Pembroke Pines, FL

Major: Communication

I chose FGCU because I felt like I belonged here. There are countless opportunities for students to get involved and find their passions.

One of my favorite jokes is: "What does a nosey pepper do?" Get jalapeno business!

Jared

I chose FGCU because I love the location! There are a ton of things to do and, not to mention, we are so close to the beach!

The greatest thing ever invented was the game of basketball! #GoEagles #DunkCity

Junior

Hometown: Ocala, FL

Major: Psychology

I chose FGCU because of the close-knit feel of the community on campus.

One of my favorite jokes is: "What are the strongest days of the week?" Saturday & Sunday, the rest are WEAKdays!

Kim

Senior

Hometown: Jacksonville, FL

Major: Legal Studies

I chose FGCU because of the small class sizes that allow personalized attention from professors and because of all the amenities that the students have access to.

If I could be any animal, I would be a tiger because they are extremely spirited animals with a fierce but tranquil attitude.

Freshman

Hometown: Treasure Island, FL

Major: Business Management

I chose FGCU because compared to larger schools, here I feel like somebody, rather than just a number.

If I could be any animal, I would be a white tiger. Why? I mean, who wouldn't want to be a tiger?!

Priscilla

Freshman

Hometown: Las Cruces, NM

Major: Psychology & Forensic Science

I chose FGCU because many opportunities are here to grow and expand. I love the small community, but it's large enough that you always meet new people.

If I had a superpower it would be to read minds. Then I would always know what people want and I could deliver.

I chose FGCU because the campus took my breath away! When I visited, I just felt like I was home.

I chose FGCU because it's a place I can create new opportunities for myself both in the STEM field and out of the classroom.

If I could be a TV character I would be Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation. She is so passionate about her job and has a great support system from her coworkers!
