What is Transitioning

 
 

The majority of First Time in College (freshman) students are advised by First Year Advising (FYA) during their first semester of enrollment at Florida Gulf Coast University.    

The process of the advising "transition" refers to a formal shift in who advises FTIC students during their second semester of enrollment, and through the point of graduation.  Students transition from being advised by FYA to being advised by advisors in the college that houses their major:
