William (Billy) N. Blood (27) was promoted to Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services on November 19, 2007.  Blood has served five years as Alico Arena Manager/Special Events Coordinator for Auxiliary Services.  He was hired as the first facility manager for Alico Arena in December 2003.

Blood's responsibilities include oversight of Alico Arena operations consisting of staffing, scheduling of all athletic facilities, coordination of services, maintenance, budget management, payroll and event billing.  Blood currently manages two full-time positions (Assistant Arena Manager/Box Office Manager) and upwards of fifty part-time event staff employees and volunteers in areas of ticketing, parking, customer service, event set-up and breakdown.

Blood gained valuable experience during his undergraduate studies while working at the Aebersold Recreation Center as a building supervisor; managing events such as Dave Chapelle, Busta Rhymes, Jimmy Fallon, Jim Breuer and the Goo Goo Dolls.  As Arena Manager, he took on scheduling of all athletic facilities, added two full-time positions, and doubled part-time event staff support.  He has managed keynote University events such as FGCU Commencement, University Lecture Series that include Maya Angelou, Mikhail Gorbachev, and  Colin Powell; and most recently managed the 2007 NCAA Division II Women's South Regional Basketball Tournament.

As a young facility manager, Blood takes most pride in the opportunity to help his staff learn positive characteristics that they will hopefully take with them as professionals following graduation.  "I was blessed with a lot of great role models and positive influences growing up from my parents to teachers and supervisors.  Just as those people did, I hope to provide a positive influence or have an impact on my staff's lives."  Originally from Conneautville, PA, Blood currently resides in Fort Myers, FL and aside from a demanding career enjoys attending large sporting events, concerts, participating in intramural sports, and relaxing on the beach.  "I have truly been blessed throughout my life.  Some may say I have been lucky, but I believe luck is when preparation and hard work meets opportunity."

Blood attended Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Sport Management with a minor in Business Administration.

Matt Collver (24) is in his second year as an employee at FGCU.  In January of 2007, Collver was named Box Office Supervisor of Alico Arena.

Collver oversees all aspects and staff of ticket operations in Alico Arena and supervises the day-to-day business.  He serves as a liaison between Alico Arena and FGCU Athletics in regards to all ticket operations.  Amongst other things, his duties include: season ticket sales, advance, online and game-day event sales, sales reconciliation and reporting, and other customer service tasks associated with the ticket office.

Prior to his position in the box office, Matt spent more than one year working in the FGCU Athletics Department.  Collver enjoyed a dual-role position as the Equipment Manager and Sports Information Assistant.  In addition to his duties in the equipment room, he was in charge of composing and editing press releases, game previews and recaps, as well as designing the cross country and women's basketball media guides.  He also updated the athletics website and supervised game day operations.
