Roles and Responsibilities

In accepting a two-year appointment, board members agree to fulfill the responsibilities associated with Board membership:

• Regular attendance at quarterly board meetings is expected to be a high priority.  Missing more than two meetings in a given year is subject to evaluation (for local members).
• Attend campus alumni programs when possible, particularly Homecoming events, events hosted/sponsored by the FGCUAA, and traditional events that are coordinated by subsidiary chapters and associations.
• Serve on at least one standing committee of the Board of Directors and actively participate in the functions of the committee.
• Seek out and encourage talented alumni for volunteer roles such as membership on the Board of Directors, membership on a subsidiary alumni board, participating on a standing committee or being a regional representative.
• Wear your FGCU Alumni Association name badge at University functions (when appropriate).
