Become an Ambassador

The Student Ambassador Program is an organization originally established as a part of the Honors program that has now transitioned to offer this exciting opportunity to all FGCU students. Ambassadors go to different events all across the Southwest Florida area representing FGCU. Student Ambassadors attend several events on campus representing the student body and volunteering. For example, since the fall of 2012, ambassadors have attended on campus events that include the Edwards Hall Dedication and the Board of Governor's meeting. Off campus, ambassadors attend any events that are looking for FGCU volunteers or representatives. For example if FGCU has been given tickets or a table at a gala or fundraiser the Student Ambassadors are the students who attend. Ambassadors have also volunteered at and attended the Naples Town Hall Lecture Series that has included speakers like George Bush, Anderson Cooper, Frank Abagnale, Bob Ballard, Condoleezza Rice, and this year Tim Tebow.

  • Commitment to the program for the entire year (Fall and Spring) unless graduation early.
  • Maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or greater.
  • Attend Ambassador training sessions and meetings each semester.
  • If selected, attend three (3) event hours each month to remain in good standing.
  • Candidates must not have a disciplinary record or charges within the University judicial system.
  • Serve as a positive representation of FGCU, the Student Ambassador Program, and themselves.
