Parent's Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What exactly is the swim test?
The swim test consists of swimming 25 yards of a recognizable swim stroke (front crawl or backcrawl) and 30-seconds of treading water.
  2. What is the age range for child participants?
Participants must be at least 7 years old to participate in the Wet N' Wild and Recreation Camp.  Participants must be between the ages of 11 and 14 years old for the Guard Start camp.  Please keep in mind that participants must complete the swim test mentioned above for all three camps.  Considering the camp will be going to places such as a waterpark and the beach, your child needs to have the skills necessary to be safe in AND around the water.  Previous participants ranged from 9 years old to 13 years old.
  3. How do I register?
You must register at the Aquatics Center.  Registration begins Monday, March 23rd.  You can register Monday through Friday, 11pm-7pm.  Sorry, we can only accept payment by cash or check.  Child participants need to accompany the parent when registering to complete the swim test.  Unfortunately, forms can not be accepted through the mail due to the required swim test and limited participant space for each session.
