Swim Lesson Program

Water is everywhere in Southwest Florida.
Shouldn't your child know how to swim?

Our swim lessons are geared for anyone between the ages of 6 months through adult! Lessons are open to the public and are held nine months out of the year. All instructors are certified through the American Red Cross. Both group and private lessons are available.  Upon completion, certificates and t-shirts will be issued.

Parent's Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can I pay with credit or debit cards?
No. Only payment in cash or check is accepted.

  2. When can I register?
Registration office hours are weekdays from 11am-7pm.  Registration must be complete the Friday, one week prior to the first day of class.  Depending on availability, late registration may be accepted up to the Friday before the first day of class. However, an additional fee of $10 will be required for late registration.

  3. Can I register online or over the phone?
No. Registration forms are available in the Aquatics Center Office, or they can be mailed by request. Registration by mail will be accepted, but spaces are reserved on a first-come-first-served basis. Therefore, if registration forms and proper payment are mailed for a class that is already full, no space will be reserved. Please contact the Aquatics Center for availability at (239) 590-7700.

  4. If my child misses a class, can we make it up another day?
It depends.  If the Aquatics Center cancels a lesson for reasons like poor weather conditions, there will be one dry-land Safety Day Lesson. If more than one lesson in a session is cancelled, make-up days will be held the Friday of the week of the missed lesson. If a lesson is missed for the participants' own reasons, no make-up lesson can be scheduled. Because of the limited number of spaces available and the proper participant-to-instructor ratio, participants may not visit another class for a make-up.
