Analyzing the Topic
Students will be asked to write about
one of two topics that appear in a statement called a topic prompt. Each prompt
is phrased as a partial statement, and each prompt will have two parts -- the
subject and the assertion, e.g., "a modern invention that can be
considered a wonder of the world," or "one of your possessions that
is very important to you."
