Research Interests: Avian and reptilian behavioral ecology; biogeography of invasive and endangered species; barrier island ecosystem ecology; forest ecology; conservation biology; history of ornithology.
Current Projects: Behavioral ecology of the exotic invasive Black Spiny-tailed Iguana (Ctenosaura similis); History of bird banding in North America; Behavioral ecology of endangered woodpeckers; "With the Wild Things" – a daily program about nature that airs on public radio in southwest Florida.
