Sheila came to FGCU as an adjunct in August, 2004 and taught Composition 1 and 2 courses and virtual Professional Writing courses. In the fall of 2006, she enrolled in the Masters in English program. While taking courses, she also served as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Language and Literature and continued to teach Composition 1 and 2 and Professional Writing courses.

In January, 2006, she became FGCU's Graduate Student of the Year. She graduated in April, 2007 and is teaching Introduction to Literature, hybrid Composition 1 and 2 courses, and virtual Professional Writing.
