Tyler graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 1995 with a Masters in Fine Arts degree in Theatre. She received her undergraduate degree in Theatre in 1990 from the University of Alabama. For over twenty years she worked as a professional television and stage actress. Some of her credits include recurring roles on Ellen and Charmed. Series lead on Silk Stalkings. Guest starring roles on Chicago Hope, Men Behaving Badly, Brotherly Love, The Sentinel, and Spy Game. She spent seven seasons at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival where she played such roles as Callie in Stop Kiss, Cressida in Troilus and Cressida, Brooke in Noises Off, Joan in Henry VI part one, Rosaline in Love’s Labors Lost, Cherie in Bus Stop, and Izzy in Rabbit Hole. She spent four seasons at the Utah Shakespeare Festival where she played such roles as Celia in As You Like It, Cressida in Troilus and Cressida, Regan in King Lear, Dolly in You Never Can Tell, Gwendolyn in The Importance of Being Earnest, Mrs. Manningham in Gaslight and Portia in Julius Caesar. Other theatre credits include The Milwaukee Rep, The Colorado Shakespeare Festival, City Equity Theatre (Birmingham, AL), Artists Repertory Theatre (Portland, OR), Freeport Shakespeare Festival (Freeport, Maine).
