Research and Teaching Interests: Human impacts and influences on the environment- gopher tortoise habitat, sources of nitrogen in waters, stress and immunity, science education.I am currently working on a chapter about integrating service-learning into interdisciplinary courses, and recently submitted a chapter about the course Issues in Science and Technology. I am collaborating on GIS mapping changes in Gopher tortoise habitat in Lee County, Florida, and determining the sources of nitrogen in the outfall of the community where I live, San Carlos Park.
