Ms. Towne joined the faculty of Florida Gulf Coast University as a visiting instructor in 2005. She taught Composition, Research Writing, and Literature at Rock Valley College, Northern Illinois University, and Kaplan College after receiving her MA in 2000. She also taught children’s and adults’ art, literature, and wildlife classes for various community education organizations. In addition to teaching, Ms Towne worked as a freelance writer concentrating on fine art exhibitions and promotional literature for wildlife rehabilitation facilities in the region. Her scholarly and research interests are broad, and she is happy to have the opportunity to continue them at FGCU.
