Thomas May received his B.M. degree from Augustana College in 1985 and his M.M. degree from the University of Illinois in 1988. May has pursued graduate studies at Indiana University. He has studied with Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Janina Ehrlich, Don Moline and Alice Baker. Mr. May has been the assistant principal cellistin iin the Naples Philharmonic since 1991. He has performed with many orchestras including the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, the South Bend Symphony, the Quad-City Symphony and the Spoleto Festival Orchestra in Italy. Formerly the orchestra teacher at Barron Collier and Gulf Coast High Schools, he is currently the principal cellist at the Southern Illinois Music Festival also currently the cello coach for the Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
