Getting Started

1. Apply early, allowing enough time to complete the process.   It is suggested that you begin at least six months before you want to begin classes.
2. Review the Bower School of Music Audition and Scholarship Information Guide [.pdf - 93kb].
3. Download and complete the Bower School of Music Audition and Scholarship Application Form [.pdf - 95kb]. Follow instructions included on the form to return the application to the Bower School of Music.
4. Download and complete the Bower School of Music Applicant Letter of Recommendation Form [.pdf - 85kb]. Follow instructions included on the form.

Admissions Criteria

Students wishing to enter the Bower School of Music should have previous musical training.

• For singers:  Participation in a high school or other choral program, and/or private lessons in voice.
• For pianists: Substantial private study in piano.
• For wind, string or percussion instrumentalists:   Participation in a high school band or orchestra and/or private lessons in your primary instrument.
