Research Interests

Our lab’s research interests primarily involve the study of interferon and cytokine function in the immune system, including in autoimmune diseases of the nervous system. Our laboratory is also interested in the study of normal and mutated voltage-gated sodium ion channels in the presence of ion modulators, including novel local anesthetics and marine toxins. We routinely conduct interferon, antiviral, cytotoxicity, and ELISA assays for our immunological studies and perform patch-clamp experiments for understanding voltage-gated sodium channel modulations.
