Miranda Marts has resided in Florida since birth. She earned her A.A degree from Edison College and her B.S. in Criminal Justice from Florida Gulf Coast University. She also earned her M.S. in Criminal Justice from Florida Gulf Coast University. She will be continuing her academic career, pursuing her PhD in Criminology through the University of South Florida.

Miranda Marts has a background in Juvenile Justice and Child Welfare, working with both the Department of Juvenile Justice and the Department of Children and Families/Children's Network of Southwest Florida.

Miranda Marts' research interests include areas of Juvenile Justice. She is hoping to start a mentoring program with the students of Florida Gulf Coast University and at-risk juveniles within the surrounding communities.
