Greetings from Florida Gulf Coast University as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary! You are such a valuable part of our history – part of the alumni who are now more than 7,000 strong. Along with our 9,000 current students, the alumni continue to contribute to the growing success of Florida Gulf Coast University in meaningful ways. It is my pleasure to share with you the exciting news from your College of Arts and Sciences:
- Twenty-five new faculty will join the college in fall 2007 offering diverse course work in all 19 undergraduate and 3 graduate degree programs.
- A new master's degree in History has been added in fall 2007.
- We are expanding our educational and research facilities:
- The Norm and Nancy Vester Marine and Environmental Field Station
- The Naples Botanical Garden Research Facility will break ground in spring 2008
- Faculty are planning a new academic building with additional research and teaching laboratories and classrooms with an anticipated opening in fall 2009.
In order to continue our success, I invite you to participate in the Funds for Excellence campaign for alumni. This annual giving opportunity directly supports the College of Arts and Sciences and allows us to expand offerings, enrich programs, and further establish our reputation for providing high quality educational opportunities for students. Your gift will make a real difference to the College of Arts and Sciences and our students.
Thank you, in advance, for your support of FGCU!
Sincerely,
Donna Price Henry, Ph.D. Dean College of Arts & Sciences
P.S. How can you double the value of your gift? Matching gifts are an easy way to add value to your gift. Your employer may match or even triple your gift to higher education. Just ask your human resources office if they participate.
