My research applies social and cognitive psychology to study the behavior of actors within the legal system, usually in the specific context of juror and jury decision making. Ongoing research projects investigate the influence of the "CSI Effect" on jurors' expectations of forensic evidence, how procedural variations influence decisions about punishment (in both death penalty and non-capital cases), and the degree to which perspective taking and risk aversiveness influence jurors' verdicts. My research often uses Web-based methods for data collection. I currently teach General Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Research Methods, and Psychology & Law.
