Professor Brock has been teaching at FGCU since 1998, after having been something of an academic Kelly Girl, teaching at universities in Indiana, Tennessee, Idaho, Pennsylvania, and Miami, before landing in Fort Myers.  In Southwest Florida, he participates in various environmental and cultural organizations, enjoying the arts and theater scene as well as treasuring such places as Bunch Beach, Ding Darling Refuge, and Six Mile Cypress Slough.  Professor Brock's scholarly and teaching interests gravitate toward poetry, popular culture, 20th-century literature, and gender studies.  He currently is tinkering with his fourth book-length collection of poetry, this time along the theme of gods and money, imaginatively entitled “Gods and Money.”  A native of Idaho, he is a big fan of Matthew Barney, Boise State football, and Picabo Street.
