Emily teaches Composition and loves seeing students through the first-year experience. She holds a BA in English and Anthropology from University of Rhode Island, and two MAs, one in English and one in Applied Linguistics, both from University of Massachusetts/Boston. She studied Literature and History for a year in York, England.

Before joining the FGCU faculty in 2008, Emily taught ESL and Composition at colleges and universities locally and in the Boston area, directed study abroad programs in Europe and South Africa, and owned a neighborhood market in New Hampshire.
