Primary Research and Teaching Areas: Creative writing, composition, children's literature, adolescent literature, writing for children.

Professor Henshon came to Florida Gulf Coast University in the fall of 2005 and has taught creative writing and composition classes. Dr. Henshon has over 150 publications, including the "Millie" series for children, four Navigator study guides, and two creative writing books published by Prufrock Press in 2007.She recently published Notes from a Writer (with Valija Rose) through the Center for Gifted Education at The College of William & Mary.
