My dissertation research was using the Homotopy Analysis Method to give analytical solutions (actual functions) to nonlinear differential equations where only numerical solutions (data) existed in the literature.
I am also working in the area of integrable systems, finding hierarchies of systems using methods discussed by Tu, and proving these hierarchies are integrable. This is in terms of Liouville integrability, or using a Poisson bracket to show the Hamiltonians are involute in pairs. But also integrable in the sense of finding a zero-curvature representation.
