I joined the Department of Mathematics at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fall 2014. My current research is in applying wavelet transforms in the analysis of high-dimensional data such as functional data, images, and volumes. From a theoretical standpoint, I am interested in the development of statistics and tests that could be used in analyzing high-dimensional multivariate data. In addition to wavelet transforms, which is rather mathematically intensive, I am also interested in stochastic processes which are statistically intensive.
Aside from developing methodology, my focus is on analyzing high dimensional data originating from genomics. I use publicly available data sources such as The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) to mine information pertaining to diseases and drug interactions. Another recent interest of mine is in the fields of Astrostatistics and Neuroimaging. I research galaxies, stars, quasars and other matter using the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) data releases. With neuroimaging, I am interested in the computational connectivity of the human brain. In particular, I analyze data from the Human Connectome Project (HCP).
