Professor Wisdom's teaching and research interests focus on the 20th Century literature and culture of the U. S. and the Caribbean.   Much of his recent scholarship has focused on pedagogical issues in the undergraduate literature classroom.  Currently, he is working on an examination of William Faulkner's uneasy status as a loyal dissenter in South and a related project that presents strategies for using Faulkner's experiences and novels to help undergraduates appreciate the impact of literary narratives on contemporary politics.  When not professing, he spends as much time as possible on or under the water.
