Student Resources
The Center for Environmental and Sustainability Education seeks to provide opportunities for students from across the campus to engage in scholarly activity, teaching, and service related to environmental and sustainability education. Student assistants at the Center play an important role in helping to accomplish our research and scholarly activity.
We provide the following information as a resource for students interested in environmental and sustainability education. The Center is affiliated with these organizations formally and informally.

Earth Charter Youth Initiative
The Earth Charter is a declaration of fundamental principles for building a just, sustainable, and peaceful global society in the 21st century. It seeks to inspire in all peoples a new sense of global interdependence and shared responsibility for the well-being of the human family and the larger living world. The Earth Charter Youth Initiative is a network of enthusiastic young people who work with the Earth Charter.

Orion Grassroots Network
The Orion Grassroots Network is a network of environmental and community organizations in North America . Network member organizations are recognized in their communities as leaders in the fields of conservation, restoration, education, democracy, justice, health, and economics. The Orion Grassroots Network connects the full diversity of groups involved in social and environmental movements, and occasionally engages them in coordinated campaigns on regional, national, and global issues. In addition, Orion Grassroots Network maintains a database of internships and paid positions in the areas of conservation, restoration, education, democracy, justice, health, and economics.

National Wildlife Federation Campus Ecology Program
Since its founding in 1989, Campus Ecology has become a leading conservation program in higher education. The program is helping to transform the nation's college campuses into living models of an ecologically sustainable society, train a new generation of environmental leaders, ensure a strong future for America's environmental movement, and support and promote positive and practical conservation projects on campus and beyond. NWF Campus Ecology offers funding for projects, fellowships, and internships to interested students. Center Director Peter Blaze Corcoran sits on the National Wildlife Federation board of advisors, and is happy to assist FGCU students interested in the Campus Ecology program.
