A Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) is a structured method for analyzing potential failure modes within a system. PFMEA looks at the degree of severity of the failure, the likelihood of the failure occurring, and the ability to detect the failure during the making of a product or when offering a service. PFMEA’s are used as a preventive action conducted prior to introducing new products or services or when changing existing products or services.
PFMEA’s identify needed corrective actions necessary to failures or defects before the products or services reach the customer to ensure the highest possible yield, quality, and yield of an organization’s products or services. They are used widely in manufacturing and increasingly being used in the service sector.
This is an eight hour training program held over two four-hour sessions. Participants will learn how to utilize the PFMEA format and actually conduct a PFMEA a PFMEA on a specific process within their organization.
The course is offered both instructor led and web-based.
Upon completion of the course, each participant will receive a certificate.
