  FGCU's Professional Development, Training & Certification program provides credit and non-credit learning opportunities for the working professional as well as customized training programs to meet the needs of local business and industry. We provide high quality, integrated and innovative programs that enable participants to achieve their career and learning objectives through access to affordable education and employment skills training. We offer a variety of certificate and CEU programs, lectures and short courses, conferences, symposia and seminars.

Human Slavery: Awareness & Action Symposium Series

A series of free continuing education programs offering practical guidelines for practitioners as well as the lay public seeking a more in-depth understanding of issues and actions related to human trafficking. The series will be held at the Sugden Welcome Center on the Florida Gulf Coast University's campus. Continental breakfast will be served. Attendees may sign up for the series or for individual modules:

CE1024  8/28/08   8:00am- 12:00pm   Identifying & Engaging victims;
CE1025  9/18/08   8:00am- 12:00pm  The Psychobiology of Trauma;
CE1026  10/16/08 8:00am- 12:00pm  Understanding Critical Incident Stress, Trauma and PTSD;
CE1027  11/20/08 8:00am- 12:00pm  Compassion Fatigue - Caring for the Caregiver.
