The Health Science program is an interdisciplinary program designed to provide career advancement opportunities for entry level health profession practitioners as well as individuals that seek future careers in health care. The program is also recommended for students who are interested in a health profession that requires a master of science at the entry level, such as Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. All of the upper division courses required to complete this program are available by web based distance learning.
The program embraces different backgrounds and interests and is appropriate for individuals who wish to gain further interdisciplinary education.
Two concentrations (areas of specialization) are available: (a) Health Services Administration and (b) Health Science.
Articulation agreements facilitate the transfer of students from associate degree programs at community colleges to baccalaureate degree programs at universities. Students admitted under articulation agreements enter FGCU with upper level status and are classified juniors. Students who have earned or are intending to earn an associate of arts or associate of science degree in an allied health care profession from Manatee Community College or St. Petersburg College should contact the college for more information regarding the transfer process. Additional articulation agreements are under discussion.
