Dr. Sean M. Wells is an instructor in the human performance program. He obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of North Florida. His current areas of interest for research are Total Joint Replacements, Parkinson’s Disease, and evidenced based practice. Research is an avid passion of Dr. Wells, having published several studies on aging and assisting with studies in the area of wound care and evidence-based practice. He maintained his own personal training business in North Florida for over five years, with an emphasis on weight loss and sports/military preparedness programs. During this time, he also provided consultation coverage for major sporting events as an athletic trainer.
Since relocating to South Florida in 2009, Dr. Wells works as an orthopedic acute care physical therapist at Naples Community Hospital where he was named in 2010 as Inpatient Clinician of the Year. As an ongoing outreach, he presents continuing education courses at the hospital. He is licensed in the state of Florida as a Physical Therapist, Athletic Trainer, and holds certifications as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
