Joan joined Florida Gulf Coast University in 2001.  She earned her undergraduate degree from Colorado State University and holds a master’s degree in nutrition from University of Maryland.  Joan has over twenty years’ experience in the field of nutrition and wellness.  Previous positions, prior to joining FGCU, include Director of Health Promotion at George Washington University and Nutrition Coordinator/Manager  for the Lee Health Education Center at Lee Memorial HealthPark.  In addition to teaching nutrition courses, she enjoys providing nutrition counseling services to FGCU students and athletes. Joan is a Licensed, Registered Dietitian and is Board Certified as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics.
