Anne earned her Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in Mental Health at Florida Gulf Coast University in 2010 while working as the advisor for the School of Nursing. Following her parents’ footsteps in the medical profession and medical education, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Duke University. Upon graduating from nursing school, she spent over 30 years in nursing, healthcare education and health promotion. She has more than 9 years of undergraduate advising experience in the State of Florida system. In addition to advising, she has been an Instructor for over 20 years in health related content and nursing. Enjoying variety and working with students, she became an advisor in the College of Health Professions and Social Work in 2005. Currently, she advises students for all pre-majors in the college, works part-time at Counseling and Psychological Services providing mental health and career counseling to students, and occasionally teaches interdisciplinary undergraduate courses.
A longtime resident of Florida, she moved to Southwest Florida from Key West in 2005 when she joined FGCU. She enjoys all things outdoors, acrylic and watercolor painting and spending time with her schnauzer and her children who live close by.
