Dr. Reuter received his medical degree as well as his research doctorate from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz/Germany. He worked as an orthopedic surgeon in England before switching this main focus to compiling medical and scientific dictionaries and databases for print and digital publications. In 1998 Dr. Reuter moved to Florida and founded Reuter Medical, Inc., a reference publishing company. He has published or contributed to more than 100 dictionaries in six languages and 19 countries.

Dr. Reuter is the proud father of three wonderful daughters. When he's not teaching, reading or writing he enjoys scuba diving, cycling, tennis, martial arts, FGCU athletics (GO EAGLES!), American football, chocolate, fresh crispy bread and German beer.

Courses Taught at FGCU Since 2010:

BSC 1085C Human Anatomy & Physiology I with lab: First part of a two semester course primarily intended and designed for health science majors. Topics covered include Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology, Cells & Tissues, Integumentary system, Skeletal system, Muscular system, Nervous system, Special senses, and Endocrine system.

BSC 1086C Human Anatomy & Physiology II with lab: Second part of a two semester course primarily intended and designed for health science majors. Topics covered include Cardiovascular system, Lymphatic system, Immune system, Digestives system, Nutrition & Metabolism, Urinary system, Water, Electrolyte, and Acid-base Balance, and Reproductive system.

NGR 6156 Advanced Anatomy & Physiology I: First part of a two semester course for students in the Master of Science in Nursing Program. The focus was on advanced anatomy and physiology of the human body, with emphasis on the body’s homeostasis mechanisms.

NGR 6165 Advanced Anatomy & Physiology II: Second part of a two semester course for students in the Master of Science in Nursing Program. The focus was on advanced anatomy and physiology of the human body, with emphasis on the body’s homeostasis mechanisms.
