Dr. Martin received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Florida, and Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Syracuse University. She has worked in physical disabilities with a broad spectrum of diagnoses, but has focused her clinical practice and interests on hand rehabilitation for the last several years. She also has research interests and publications in the field of substance addictions.
Dr. Martin has been an occupational therapy educator for many years, serving in faculty and administrative roles at Utica College of Syracuse University in Utica, New York, Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky, and at FGCU since 2001. She has been recognized by the American Occupational Therapy Association for her contributions to the profession, and was named a Fellow of that organization in 2004 for “Leadership and Mentoring in Professional and Continuing Education.” Her teaching interests include biomechanical assessment and treatment, kinesiology, research, and specialty topics in hand rehabilitation.
