Karen Landy received her Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) from Florida Gulf Coast University. She joined the faculty in the Department of Health Sciences in December 2002. Karen is an Instructor in both undergraduate and graduate level courses in the College of Health Professions and Social Work, and is the Program Director for the Bachelor of Science Health Sciences program. Karen also teaches University Colloquium. She has been a longtime advocate for vulnerable populations in the southwest Florida community. She provides education, training, research and services for the varied needs of the growing aging population in southwest Florida. Her honors and awards include: FGCU Faculty winner in recognition of Scholarly Excellence in the Service Learning category (2007 and 2008). Karen’s primary interests are in the areas of gerontology (aging), health care law and ethics, leadership in health care and the integration of service learning into course curricula.
