Ranking Policy

Applicants are ranked by their Prerequisite GPA.  If two students have the same ranking then the Last 30 Credit Hour GPA is looked at.  If after these two GPAs are looked at, and the rankings remain the same, the following formula will be used:

  1. 70% Prerequisite GPA Calculation: Prerequisite GPA X 70 = _____ points
  2. 25% Last 30 hours GPA Calculation: Last 30 hrs GPA X 25= _____ points
  3. 5%   Portfolio review Calculation: Portfolio Score X 5= _____ points

Total (sum of 3 categories) = _____ points

Students who have applied by the priority deadline advertised in program publications will always be given open positions prior to those applying after the priority deadline.  The rank order process will be used for all priority applicants prior to other applicants being considered to determine applicants offered admission. For priority consideration, all application materials must be received by February 1st of the year in which entry is sought. Application materials received after February 1 will be considered on a space-available basis.  Admission decisions are made based on materials and coursework completed at the time of the application.
