Dr. Felke is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work within the College of Health Professions and Social Work at Florida Gulf Coast University. He received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary and Special Education from Providence College. He received his MSW from the University of Connecticut (UConn) School of Social Work. He also received his Ph.D. from UConn after completing his dissertation research in Armenia on the situation of ethnic Armenian refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan.
Dr. Felke focuses his research on international social work issues, macro social work, and the application of technology to social work practice and evaluation. A major focus of this work is the use of geographic information systems (GIS) for program evaluation and research efforts. He has published several articles on these topics and recently co-authored a book chapter on the use of distance education technologies to internationalize the social work curriculum. He serves as a member of several committees in Southwest Florida including the Lee County Food Policy Taskforce and the Manatee County Food Policy Council.
