Neil Simon Play "Come Blow Your Horn" Opens at FGCU
Florida Gulf Coast University opens the Neil Simon play "Come Blow Your Horn" at 8 p.m., Friday, April 13 in FGCU Broadcast Building studio theater.
"Come Blow Your Horn" was one of Neil Simon's earliest (and funniest) plays ever to hit Broadway. It is the story of Alan Baker who is busy being a swinging bachelor when his younger brother, Buddy, begs to move in with him. Buddy is shy and unassuming, the exact opposite of Alan. Besides, Alan is frightened by his overbearing father (who still does not know that Buddy has run away from home.) Aside from the grouchy father, there is a dysfunctional mother, a would-be starlet (Peggy) and Connie who is in love with Alan. Like all good Neil Simon plays, this production is full of comedy.
Directed by broadway actor and FGCU assistant professor Jack Degelia, the play features the most experienced of the FGCU performers - Dennis Kuhn, Kathleen Moye, Joey Carver, Becky Lake, Leslie Jenks and Eric Waligora.
Other run dates are 8 p.m. on April 14, 20 and 21, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 22. Located in FGCU Broadcast Building studio theater.
Tickets are available at the FGCU cashier's window in McTarnaghan Hall or by calling (941) 590-2361. For more information about the play, contact Henry Diers, at (941) 590-7191
